 VEHICLE EMISSIONS: VEHICLE FLEETS

ADEQ administers a fleet vehicle inspection program to allow owners or lessees of fleet vehicles to inspect their vehicles for compliance, rather than taking them to the state inspection stations. Permits are available for the inspection of non-diesel vehicles, diesel vehicles, or a combination permit. Specific restrictions apply to each category.

Fleet inspection station permits are obtained from ADEQ. The fleet must meet the following criteria to obtain a permit:

  • The fleet must own at least 25 qualifying vehicles
  • The fleet must have an area designated for the repair, inspection and maintenance of the fleet vehicles
  • The fleet must employ a licensed inspector and a mechanic (may be same person)
  • The fleet must own or lease the equipment necessary to perform inspections
