 VEHICLE EMISSIONS: REPORT A SMOKING VEHICLE

Vehicles that emit excessive smoke are a contributor to poor air quality and smog in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. To promote clean air, both Maricopa and Pima counties operate smoking vehicle notification programs. These educational programs are designed to improve air quality by increasing understanding of the relationship between the quality of vehicle maintenance and air pollution.
