 POLLUTION PREVENTION: TOXIC RELEASE INVENTORY

Arizona facilities are required to meet the federal TRI reporting requirements if they meet the federal filing thresholds.

Also, Arizona facilities must file a federal TRI form (even if they are outside of the federal requirements for SIC Code and number of employees) if:

  • They generate an average of 1,000 kilograms or more per month of hazardous waste in a calendar year, or
  • They generate an average of one kilograms or more per month of acutely hazardous waste in a calendar year.
  • Arizona facilities are required to send their Toxic Chemical Inventory (TRI) Reports to ADEQ under the state pollution prevention laws. The ADEQ pollution prevention unit shares these reports with the public, facilities and other interested people. The form(s) must be submitted to ADEQ by July 1 each year. The forms include the Form R or the Alternate Threshold Certification Statement.
